Artist born in South Africa (1951) and nationalized Spanish, Max lives and works in Palma de Mallorca on the island of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands. He has exhibited principally in Madrid in Galleries such as Alfama, Dionis Bennassar (various times) and Quorum among others. He has had exhibitions in the USA in New York in the Montserrat Gallery and The Castle Gallery in Indiana. In 1993 he was chosen as the the most promising artist in New York by the prestigious magazine Art Review. Lately he has exhibited in Mallorca at Galeria Berlin, Nit de Lárt, Galeria Marearte, Artevision, Can Calet, Costa Nord amongst others He has received numerous prizes and distinctions all around the world and has work in both private and public collections in Madrid, Fuerteventura, Bangkok, Perth, New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, Indianapolis, Zurich, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Paris, Johannesburg, London amongst other places. His work hangs in the Contemporary Art Museums of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Puerto Rosario, Fuerteventura. He shares his creative time between painting and writing and some teaching. He is married to the painter Evita Medina.
Max nacio en Sud-africapero lleva un porrón de años en España - de hecho tiene la nacionalidad española. Vive y trabaja en Palma de Mallorca en la isla de Mallorca en las Islas Baleares y lleva casi 20 años años aquí. Ha expuesto principalmente en Madrid en Galerías como Alfama, Dionis Bennassar (varias veces), Quorum entre otros. También ha expuesto varios veces en EE.UU, principalmente en Nueva York en el Montserrat Gallery y The Castle Gallery en Indiana. En 1993 fue elegido el artista más prometedor de Nueva York por la revista prestigiosa Art Review. Últimamente ha expuesto solo en Mallorca en la Galería Berlin, La Nit de Lárt, Galería Marearte, Artevision, Can Calet, Costa Nord entre otros. Ha recibido varios premios y distinciones en todo el mundo. Tiene obra en colecciones privadas y publicas en Madrid, Fuerteventura, Perth, Nueva York, Los Angeles, San Diego, Indianapolis, Zurich, Stuttgart, Paris, Johannesburgo, Londres entre otros lugares. Está en los Museos de Arte Contemporaneo de Fort Wayne, Indiana y Puerto Rosario, Fuerteventura. Figura en el catalogo nacional de arte contemporáneo y su obra ha sido elegido para varias portadas y contraportadas de poesía y prosa. Es miembro de la asociación de artistas y artesanos de Soller. Comparte su tiempo creativo entre la pintura, la escritura y la enseñanza. Está casado con la pintora Evita Medina.
